Emma + Rico's Krabi Couples Shoot at Railay Beach Club, Thailand.

I photographed Emma + Rico's Krabi pre-wedding shoot at their accommodation at Railay Beach Club before we hit Railay beach to splash around at sunset. I first met Emma + Rico in Birmingham, which is basically the same as Krabi except Krabi has marginally better beaches + Birmingham has slightly fewer monkeys.

As a couple, they are two of the most kind-hearted + warm people you could wish to meet. They both have this aura of calmness + happiness that emits from every sentence, gesture + glance. We chatted about their story, growing up in the 90's, creativity + travel. Fast forward two years + I find myself lolling around in the sea with these guys as the sky turned the craziest shades of orange + purple.

I'm sure I'll repeat this again when I share their wedding photos in the next few days but... getting to travel (not usually as far as Krabi) + see new places is something that I value *SO* much. I love the sense of adventure that surrounds shooting weddings in faraway places + I love how destination weddings bring me in on a journey that I can take *with* my couples, their friends + families.

There's something about being allowed 'in' to tell the story of a wedding from an inside perspective that I'm drawn to more than ever + I love that (even after 11 years) I'm still finding new things I love about being a wedding photographer. Quick shout out to my lamp, Alline, for not allowing to just combust with excitement + joining me along for this ride.

Amie + Jam's Brighton Couple Photoshoot

Hello! Sorry for the radio silence. Wedding season happened so blogging didn't.

I moved from Birmingham to Brighton over a year ago + now it's hard to imagine living anywhere else. So I was beyond excited when Amie + Jam agreed to travel from the little town next to my old hometown to shoot with me in (my new hometown of...) Brighton. They'd never ever been to Brighton before (!!) so they spent the day checking out the ice cream + watching the World Cup final before we met up. It was so awesome to hear the familiar Black Country twang at the beach!

I absolutely love doing Brighton couples photoshoots a few weeks before the wedding. Spending a couple of hours with the people I'll be photographing makes it such a breeze to create portraits with a genuine energy on the wedding day... not to mention grabbing a few non-drunken-selfies in the process.

Amie + Jam are getting married at the amazing Dewsall Court. I don't know why I wrote that in the future tense. I've actually already photographed Amie + Jam's wedding but blogging is basically a full-time job so you'll have to give my time travelling sentences. Anyway... it was absolutely amazing + I can't wait to share those photos with you soon.

In the meantime, here's my first engagement session in Brighton since moving here + a few words from Amie + Jam on their engagement shoot:
